Call for chapter proposals
There are many untold stories about women’s labour education in North America. If you are interested in writing a manuscript about a women’s-only school, course, or program, within one union or involving many, please consider sending an abstract for a chapter to the editors, Cindy Hanson and Adriane Paavo.
Interested contributors should submit a single-spaced, 1000 word proposal, in APA format, outlining the topic and contents for a proposed chapter. Also include a cover page (with title, position, contact information) and reference page.
Proposals will be selected based on their connection to women’s labour education and/or gender and union education in North America; the importance of the topic; depth of analysis; quality of writing; and, balance with other proposals. Once accepted, chapter authors will be expected to submit a full version of their chapter consisting of 4500-6000 words each. Authors may also be asked to link their discussion to other chapter topics. Final chapters will be reviewed to ensure they continue to meet the requirements as described in the proposals.
Please send chapter proposals by November 30 2014, via email attachment, to cindy.hanson@uregina and apaavo@usw.ca.
In the subject line of your email put “Your Last Name-Women’s Labour Education.”
Timeline:
- Notification of the status of their proposal shortly after November 30, 2014,
- Full chapters (as well as a 50-word bio in a separate attachment) will be due by April 30, 2015
- Requests for revisions will be sent back to authors by May 15, 2015, with final chapters due June 30, 2015
