Pam Frache from Ontario’s Fight For $15 & Fairness talks about the campaign, how it relates to the fight for paid sick days and other employment standards and how it is organizing to win. Nadine MacKinnon’s music video documents the excitement and breadth of the movement from 2013 through to August 2016. The campaign is organizing for a big demonstration at Queen’s Park in Toronto on October 1st.

    Pam Franche makes an interesting statement that the $15 figure came from workers themselves who felt they would fight for that but they didn’t believe a living wage of $20 was something they could achieve. $15 American is $19.49 Canadian. I wish Franche could have illustrated how the decision was made… by polls? by informal discussions?
