After a month-long summer hiatus, Rank and File Radio is returning to air this week with new episodes, new interviews and more analysis you definitely won’t find in the mainstream media.
What’s new?
RFR welcomes John Rose as the new regular co-host of the show. Andrew has moved to Regina and will continue to contribute every week. John is a seasoned labour activist and hosted a labour radio program at Trent Radio.
When to listen?
RFR still occupies the same timeslot: every Wednesday 5:30pm EST on Kingston, Ontario’s CFRC 101.9FM. You can stream online at cfrc.ca, or hear the archived show at rankandfile.ca within hours of broadcast. This week’s show will also be the first to be podcasted at the Rabble.ca Podcast Network.
RFR in your town
If you’re a supporter of RFR, talk to your local non-profit community/campus radio station about getting RFR on air. Find your local community or campus radio station among the 82 member stations of the National Campus and Community Radio Association. The NCRA collectively reaches 75 percent – or 23 million – Canadians. This isn’t just about RFR syndication, but about building ties between organized labour and independent, community-driven media which doesn’t get the resources and funding that the mainstream does. How much has your union contributed to independent local radio? Bringing RFR to your local community radio station just might be the way to build that relationship.
