Research on work and immigration in Saskatchewan

9/18/2014

Are you temporary foreign worker or employed in the province as part of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)?

Do you work with new Canadians or the foreign worker program as a business owner, manager, trade union official, an immigration agent or recruiter?tfw-360x225

Research participants are required for a study on work and immigration, “Open for Business: Temporary Foreign Workers and Labour Law Reform in Saskatchewan”. The purpose of this research is to understand the economic and social significance of Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program and the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program.

The study involves interviews with workers, business leaders, immigration consultant, recruiters, and union officials who have experience with Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program or the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. Your participation will include an interview that may take about 30 – 60 minutes in the location of your choosing. Phone and Skype interviews are possible as well. If you prefer, a guest may also attend the interview. Should you so desire, you will receive a copy of the project’s results.

At no point during the survey will you be required to self-identify unless you so choose. Your identity will be kept strictly confidential.

This project has been approved on ethical grounds by the University of Regina Research Ethics Board on March 10, 2014 (REB# 2014-040). Any questions regarding your rights as a participant may be addressed to the committee through the Research Ethics Office at 306- 585-4775 or research.ethics@uregina.ca. Out of town participants are welcome to call the Office collect.

Your participation in this study is greatly appreciated. A consent form can be downloaded here.
