Postal Workers Fight Back – A Rank and File Podcast With Mike Palecek

2014-01-26 16.24.06Mike Palecek is a National Union Representative with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. On January 24, Mike was invited to speak about the fight at Canada Post at a town hall organized by the Toronto Young New Democrats. Afterwards he spoke to rankandfile.ca about the purposed cuts and the fight to save Canada Post.

    You are invited to attend a public rally to “Defend the Postal Service. Defeat the Attack on the Public Sector” on Friday, February 21, 7 p.m. at OISE U of Toronto, room 2-214, organized by Socialist Action.

    The special guest speaker is Denis Lemelin, National President, Canadian Union of Postal Workers. He will be joined by Marie Clarke Walker, V.P. of the Canadian Labour Congress, Sid Ryan, President of the Ontario Federation of Labour, Myles Magner, V.P. of the OPSEU, and John Clarke, provincial organizer for the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty.

    The event is endorsed by the Greater Toronto Area Council of OPSEU, and Put Food In the Budget.

    The updated poster to promote the Friday, February 21 Toronto rally to Defend the Postal Service, with the new list of endorsements, is at: http://www.socialistaction.ca .

    Additional endorsements are welcome, and will be included in future editions of the poster.
